Now Available: Reference Standards for the new Ph. Eur. Cannabis/CBD Monographs
The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) Suppl. 11.5 is now available containing the new Ph. Eur. Cannabis Flower monograph and the new Ph. Eur. monograph Cannabidiol (CBD).
With the publication of the two Ph. Eur. monographs new reagents are needed for quality control purposes (e.g. for the test on identity via Thin Layer Chromatography in the Cannabis Flower monograph). Hence, the description of these Cannabis reagents is also published in the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) Supplement 11.5.
Moreover the Ph. Eur. Cannabis Flower Monograph requires the use of cannabis flower for system suitability HRS (herbal reference standard) and cannabidiol for cannabis CRS (chemical reference substance). These reference standards/substances that are described in the newly adopted Ph. Eur. monograph Cannabis flower are now available.
In addition, the reference standards (Cannabidiol CRS, Cannabidiol for system suitability CRS) required for the new Ph. Eur. monograph Cannabidiol (CBD) can be ordered.
More information is available in the announcement on the EDQM website and on the EDQM reference standards ordering website.
