Background

Culture media are of essential importance for the microbiological quality control and their quality has a direct on the results of microbiological analysis. Or, put it in another way, even nowadays without culture media there would be no microbiological QC. With their formulations and quality controls they are a fundamental part in different pharmacopoeial chapters, some of these are harmonized between EP/JP/USP, others are not. This webinar is aimed to give an overview to the different regulatory requirements for culture media used in microbiological monitoring, media fills, sterility tests, enumeration test and tests of specified microorganisms. Practical aspects of the quality control and test strains are a main part of this webinar and will include also a culture media trouble shooting.
